Özet
Chemicals are the raw material of each product that is produced in order to increase the welfare of people. It is thought that there are approximately 5 to 7 million types of chemicals today. Chemicals that are widely used in many industries constitute a source of danger to workers due to their harmful effects. Hazardous chemicals are divided into various classes by different institutions and organizations. One of the chemicals that are among the hazardous chemicals commonly used in the industry or occur as an intermediate product or waste is toxic (toxic) substances. Toxic compounds pose a deadly threat to both the environment and living things when toxic chemicals are produced, used, stored, or disposed of improperly. In this study, it has been suggested that necessary OHS precautions should be taken during implementations, including toxic chemicals that are widely used in industrial activities such as lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), benzene, polychlorinated biphenyls, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), formaldehyde, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), xylene, pentachlor phenol (PCP) that have been specifically determined by the Agency for Toxic Chemicals and Disease Registry. OHS precautions prepared taking into account national and international standards are of great importance to employee health.
