Özet
We performed the first ever quadruple extremity transplantation on a 27-year-old male patient who had lost his all extremities due to a high-voltage electrical injury 14 years ago. The donor was a 40-year-old hearth beating male patient. The total cold ischemia time of each extremity was around 8 h. The whole transplantation surgery was completed in 12 h. Preoperatively, the extremities were irradiated, and immunosuppressive drugs were given to the patient. Despite all supportive efforts, metabolic acidosis could not be reversed resulting in increased transfusion requirements. Following the sequential amputation of the extremities, the patient died on the fourth day.
