Özet
Objectives: Purpose of the study is to investigate the challenges that are experienced by primary care-givers of the patients who are confined to bed or have limited physical capability and to contribute to their problems. Materials and Methods: Study was conducted between May 2017 and June 2017. Hundred and ninety-five patients were included who are receiving home health services from Bagcilar Health Implementation and Research Hospital. The data were obtained by using a questionnaire investigating demographic characteristics that was prepared by the researchers and The Zarit Caregiver Burden Scale. Internal board review approval was obtained prior to the initiation of the study (Reference number of 2017/580). Data were analyzed by using SPSS 21.0. Results: In the study, the most common diseases were neurological disorders, hypertension and diabetes mellitus. It was observed that most care givers were married, woman and they were siblings of the disabled person. The mean of care giving imposition was 38.48±12.68. These values suggest that family members that taking of disabled person had low-medium care giving imposition. Conclusion: Home care provided by patients' relatives as primary care giver may result in better patient satisfaction. However, determination level of the impact of difficulties on caregiver and preventive measures on these matters may improve outcomes which requires a comprehensive team service for home care.
