Özet
Vasovagal and vasodepressor reactions relatively rare causes of cardiac arrest in otherwise healty patients. A 28 year old male was admitted to our hospital for minor surgical operation who had a story of syncope after intramuscular and intravenous injection. Preoperatively patient's vital signs, EKG and echocardiogram were all within normal limits. After the subcutane injection of local anaesthesia administration, almost immediately the pulse disapared. Sinus arrest and ventriculer asystole persisted for 35 seconds and were accompanied by respiratory arrest. After resuscitative efforts sinus rhythm resumed. The patient suffered no apparent sequelae from the episode of asystole and was discharged from the recovery room later that day.
