Özet
Primary omental torsion and omental infarct are rare causes of acute abdomen. Preoperative diagnosis of torsion and necrosis of omentum is often difficult with the patients, who were operated with initially diagnosis of appendicitis. A 22 years old male presented to the emergency room with sudden onset right lower quadrant abdominal pain. At laparatomy, a normal appendix and infarcted omentum secondary to torsion on the long axis were observed. The torted and necrotic omental structure was resected. A 55-year-old woman was admitted to the emergency department with right lower quadrant pain. At laparotomy, 5×6 cm. necrotic omentum was observed. The necrotic omental structure was resected. As a result, according to the information presented in the literature and two cases torsion or necrosis of omentum should be considered in patients who referred to the complaints of acute abdominal pain.
