Özet
Critical situations can occur in the operating room without any warning. These critical situations such as postpartum hemorrhage, emergency cesarean section, and cardiorespiratory arrest, are often sudden and can be life-threatening. Anesthesiologists must be ready at any time to detect and manage unpredictable emergencies. Early recognition and effective management of a critical event and its complications are as important as avoiding complications. These types of emergencies require the anesthesiologists to have the knowledge, skills and equipment required to solve the problem. Physiological changes during pregnancy and the presence of the fetus require that the anesthetic approach used in pregnancy differ from other situations. In this case, the surgical and obstetric risks also increase significantly. Therefore, early recognition and correct management of anesthesia emergencies in obstetric cases gain more importance due to both pregnancy and the presence of a fetus. In this section, approaches to be used in anesthesia emergencies are given under subheadings.
