Özet

Aim: In this study is to examine the effect of interactive reading process on children's development of mothers with children between 20-32 months. Methods: Quantitative and qualitative mixed patterns were used in the research. Children and their mothers who were in the range of 20-32 months participated in the study. The study used the Gazi Early Childhood Assessment Tool (late) to determine the language development of children and the “Semi-Structured Interview form” to determine the language development of children of the process of interactive book reading to the children of mothers. After initial interviews with the mothers, three sessions of seminars were given to the mothers who voluntarily participated in the study. After the seminar, mothers read 30 short story books for a total of ten weeks, with three books a week for their children. After each book was read, the mothers filled out The Story Book Information Form for each book. Interviews were conducted with re-mothers after a ten-week interactive book reading process. Results: When the results of the study were examined, it was noted that while there were no significant differences in the language development of children reading interactive books in the quantitative findings, in the second interviews in the qualitative findings, maternal opinions emphasized the language development of children more. Conclusions: It is important to educate all parents who have children in early childhood on reading interactive books.
