Özet
This chapter aims to provide information on the clinical features, etiology, and impact of common neurological disorders and deficiencies for anesthesia in adults, as well as the impact that these disorders have on the management of anesthesia. The topic areas in this chapter are ordered based on a combination of prevalence statistics and typical referral questions in general anesthesia clinics. This is done even though the types of neurological disorders seen in practice vary from many different variables (clinician specialty area, age range of the patients, systemic and regional issues, type, and practice affiliation). Dementia, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, stroke, and traumatic brain injury are some of the diseases covered in this chapter. Anesthesiologists, despite the fact that each of these disorders is unique, are frequently required to think flexibly about the characteristics of anesthesia management.
