Özet
Surveillance is promptly and consistently gathering, analyzing and interpreting of data with the aim of preventing and controlling diseases and damages. Surveillance is a means of expecting health level and social behaviors. It is the ability to directly measure what is going on in the society. Infectious diseases surveillance is important in this sense. Surveillance data are used to show the efficiency of immunization program and the success of elimination and eradication programs. Laboratory-based surveillance of influenza, poliomyelitis, measles, diphtheria, pertussis and invasive pneumococcal infection is performed in our country.
