Özet
Artificial intelligence (AI) is gaining traction in medical study and healthcare organizations due to challenges like data constraints, labor-intensive processes, remote patient monitoring needs, and the complexities of traditional clinical trials (CTs). These CTs continue to serve as the cornerstone of evidence-based medicine practice by providing data with different medicine paradigms from all around the world to the current literature. As the healthcare landscape increasingly embraces data-centric and individualized medicine paradigms, it becomes essential for industry players and regulating organizations to adopt specialized AI tools. AI-driven tools have the potential to streamline the comprehensive CTs by automating data generation, management, patient-centric medical record tracking, intelligent data interpretation, integration with downstream systems, and automated report generation, thus optimizing patient recruitment, enrolment, monitoring, and retention efforts. Recently, there has been significant buzz surrounding the utilization of AI in medical fields and CTs. While AI holds promise to revolutionize numerous aspects of clinical research, AI is still imperative to grasp its limitations and challenges. Given that CTs are pivotal for evidence-based medicine, this chapter aims to investigate how AI can mitigate challenges in applying AI within CTs and optimize the entire CTs process. By undertaking this exploration, we aim to provide a source for researchers to guide them to increase the effectiveness, accuracy, and overall efficiency of CTs by the strategic integration of AI technologies.
