Özet

Anticardiolipin antibodies are autoantibodies clinically associated with hypercoagulability. Immunological abnormalities such as immunosuppression and autoimmunity are frequently found and cardiovascular complications are major causes of death in end stage renal failure patients. Although there are studies regarding of anticardiolipin antibodies in end stage renal failure patients, any study investigating the frequency of anticardiolipin antibodies in predialytic chronic renal failure patients could not be found in reviewing the literature. The present study was performed to determine the frequencies of anticardiolipin antibodies in nondialysed chronic renal failure patients. Twenty-three predialytic chronic renal failure patients were included into the study. The frequencies of IgG- and IgM anticardiolipin antibodies were 21.7% and 4.3%, respectively. When these frequency values compared (Fisher's exact chi-square test was used) to those of controls (4.8% for IgG and 0% for IgM classes) there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups (p = 0.11 and p = 0.52). In conclusion, nondialysed chronic renal failure patients have no difference from normal population with respect to anticardiolipin antibody frequency.
