Özet

In our study we aimed to investigate the analgesic interactions of morphine and ketorolac tromethamine in mice. Thirty two mice weighing 22.2 ± 2.8 gr. were randomly allocated into four equal groups. 0.9 % NaCl, morphine 10 mg/kg, ketorolac tromethamine 3 mg/kg, ketorolac tromethamine 3 mg/kg with morphine 10 mg/kg were given intraperitoneally to group P, M, K and KM, respectively. Hot-Plate response time of the mice were recorded in all of the groups at the 30th, 60th, 90th and 120th minutes following the administration. Statistical analysis was made by Student's - t test and p<0.05 was accepted as significant. As an evidence of analgesic effectiveness hot-plate response time was found significantly longer in groups K, M and KM than group P (p<0.05). No significant difference was found between ketorolac tromethamine, morphine and ketorolac tromethamine with morphine groups. As a result we conclude that ketorolac tromethamine and morphine have equipotent analgesic effectiveness in mice but using the two agents together does not lead on increase in their analgesic properties.
