Özet
Topical corticosteroids are commonly used therapeutic agents. In case of incorrect diagnosis, a rare, very contagious and severe form of scabies (Norwegian scabies) can develop with use of topical corticosteroids in patients with scabies. In this case report, we present a case of Norwegian scabies that appeared after long-term topical corticosteroid use in a 20-year-old otherwise healthy male patient who was successfully treated with a sulfur containing topical formulation. Our aim by presenting this case is to remind that diagnosis of scabies must be taken into consideration in patients with itching since long-term topical corticosteroid use in a patient with scabies can result in Norwegian scabies and to share our experience in this rare case. © 2012 by Türkiye Klinikleri.
