Özet
The present study in which we investigated diagnosis and treatment characteristics of 1253 in-patients who were treated at Gülhane Military Medical Academy Pediatry Department in 2001 is a descriptive study. The mean age of in-patients is 2.4 ± 3.4 years (median = 1). 54.5% of in-patients are male and 42.8% of them are 0-year-old group. The most frequently seen diagnosis was acute gastroenteritis (10.0%). The most frequently diagnosis was hyperbiluribinemia among neonatals, pneumonia among postneonatals, acute gastroeneteritis among 1 and 2-year-old groups and pnemonia among 3-year-olds and the older group. 97.8% of in-patients were discharged. 4 in-patients were referred to the Cardiovascular Surgery Department for surgery. 21 of the 25 in-patients who died during their treatment were neonatals. Respiratory Distress Syndrome and sepsis were the first two causes of deaths in neonatals.
