Özet
Recently, it was shown that direct stent implantation without predilatation had more favorable impact on procedure than conventional balloon predilatation. Te most significant problem of direct stenting is to cross the target lesion. We evaluated effect of lesion severity on the success of direct stenting. The study included 209 patients. The patients were divided three groups according to lesion severity (70-80%, 81-90%, and >90%). All patient characteristics were similar amount three groups (p>0.05). There was no significant differences in diameter and length of stents (p>0.05). No difference in procedural success was found amount three groups (p>0.05). In conclusion, lesion severity is not a factor, affecting the procedural success. Then, direct stenting should not be canceled in the high grade lesions.
