Özet
This case report describes a comprehensive single-stage reconstruction of a late-presenting complete bilateral cleft lip and palate in a 4-year-old girl, performed during a humanitarian cleft surgery mission in Mogadishu, Somalia, on November 30, 2024. The operative plan included Veau-Wardill-Kilner pushback palatoplasty with a vomerine flap to reinforce nasal-layer closure, concomitant premaxillary setback through a wedge ostectomy at the premaxillo-vomerine junction, and definitive bilateral cheiloplasty. This integrated approach was designed to maximize anatomic closure and functional reconstruction within a single, time-limited opportunity for care. To our knowledge, this represents one of the most extensive single-stage operative combinations reported for late-presenting complete bilateral cleft lip and palate, performed in a resource-limited humanitarian surgical camp setting.
