Özet
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) develops after psychological trauma and causing fear, helplessness or horror. This disorder is characterized by re-experiencing the traumatic event, avoidance of stimuli associated with the trauma and hyperarousal. About 5% to 9% of the general population develops PTSD depending on the nature of the trauma. In this review will be focused on the history, epidemiology and etiology of PTSD.
