Özet
Bronchoscopy is a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure that directly visualizes the normal and pathological structures of the upper and lower respiratory tracts. Bronchoscope allows seeing the tracheobronchial tree and taking samples from the airways of the lung parenchyma for histopathological diagnosis [1]. Bronchoscopy is the most frequently used minimally invasive diagnostic method in chest disease clinical practice. There are two main types of bronchoscopes, namely, flexible and rigid tubular (rigid) bronchoscopes. Flexible (fiberoptic) bronchoscope (FOB), one of the two main types of bronchoscopes, is used in more than 90% of bronchoscopic applications. On the other hand, a rigid bronchoscope (RB) continues to be widely used in the diagnosis and especially therapeutic interventions of many lung diseases.
