Assessment of Malingering and Clinical Characteristics Among Arrested Offenders by Profiling Psychopathic Traits

Özet
The relationship between malingering, psychopathy, antisocial personality disorder (ASPD), and clinical characteristics requires further exploration. This study examined these associations in 101 arrested offenders hospitalized for criminal responsibility assessment. Malingering was more prevalent among those scoring higher on PCL-R Factor 2, who also exhibited more self-harm, suicide attempts, substance abuse, and crimes. In contrast, the Factor 1 group had fewer siblings, greater treatment compliance, and committed more violent crimes against strangers. While psychopathy and ASPD were positively correlated, no significant link emerged between malingering and ASPD. Additionally, ASPD prevalence did not differ significantly between Factor 1 and Factor 2 groups.
