Özet
Recent advances in biotechnology and computer science are the promoters for future's personalized and precision medicine. Metabolomics, as petite indicators of metabolism, are one of the promising members of those. Given the multifactorial bioenvironment of the fetus, early diagnosis and targeted treatment can be achieved by a detailed understanding of the physiological and pathological process of pregnancy and intrauterine development. Recent research on metabolomics along with the computerized algorithms provide a better understanding of the genetic, environmental and biochemical patterns of human metabolism. Hence, contemporarily many of the perinatal disorders including preterm labor, fetal growth restriction, congenital abnormalities and maternal conditions which have potential impact on the fetus, such as hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, can be detected in with time by the help of metabolomics. Therefore, metabolomics studies lead to novel biomarker discoveries, cost-effective disease screening, and a practical targeted medical approach to specific fetal conditions.
