Effect of simulation-based postpartum hemorrhage management on midwifery students’ skill levels: A randomized controlled trial

Özet
Aim: To evaluate the effects of simulation-based postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) management training on midwifery students' practice skills, satisfaction, self-confidence, and self-efficacy. Methods: This randomized, parallel-group trial was conducted with third-year midwifery students (N=78). Participants were assigned to an intervention group (high-fidelity simulator) or a control group (standard adult patient model). Data were collected at three time points: pre-test, post-test, and follow-up. Results: The intervention group achieved significantly higher PPH management scores at post-test (p=0.004) and follow-up (p=0.015). Post-test self-efficacy was also significantly higher (p=0.003). Conclusion: High-fidelity simulation enhanced students’ PPH management skills and short-term gains in self-efficacy with standard practice.
