Özet
In accordance with results of research carried out till today, local medicine applications in periodontology, can only be helpful for scaling and root planning transactions. For example, fibers with tetracycline, whom applied with clearance of tooth surface, have shown successful clinical results such as reduction in deep pockets, attachment gain and reduction in bleeding. Hydrogen peroxide can also be used as a supplement to these transactions; but by it self cannot substitute scaling and root planning. As another alternative, gargles with hexitidine which have bacteriostatic and fungostatic impact are supplementary agents for clearance of tooth surface. It is considered appropriate to achieve a combined therapy in the form of oral hygiene in order to prevent the colonization of bacteria again and root planing for detoxification local medicine application for the control of pathogenesis. In order to make local medicine applications, be effective by themselves in periodontology, there is a requirement for further advanced research.
