Özet
Mechanical plaque sealing with coronary stents is an established way of treating culprit lesions in diseased coronary arteries. Even though coronary stents are invaluable tools for local treatment of the diseased coronary arteries, the high prevalence of pancoronary destabilization in patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS) highlights the importance of the systemic approaches rather than the local treatment of the culprit lesion. © 2008 Elsevier Ireland Ltd.
