Özet
In NSCLC (non-small cell lung cancer), initial evaluations in newly diagnosed cases are of great importance in order to choose the most appropriate treatment model that prolongs survival. After the pathological diagnosis of NSCLC, some imaging methods are required for the correct determination of the clinical stage, along with blood count, renal and liver function tests, and biochemical tests in which blood calcium level is determined. Currently, clinical staging with whole-body FDG positron-emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT), brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with contrast, or CT is recommended.
