Özet
A total of 144 pediatric patients with lower respiratory infection ranging in age from 6 to 14 years were evaluated for Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection by serology. Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection was found in 51 patients (% 35). Patients with Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection were more older than patients with other pneumoniae agents. Infection was seen throughout the year, but it is more common during winter. Treatment with erythromycin and clarithromycin reduced the duration of the illness and accelerated the resolution of symptoms.
