Indoor air quality and its effects on employee health

Özet
In terms of occupational health and safety, indoor air (IA) pollutants in working environments play an important role in employee health, globally causing occupational diseases and even premature deaths. When the measurements of air values in studies conducted in indoor environments are analyzed; it is concluded that the level of polluted air in indoor environments is approximately 70% more polluted than the level of polluted air in outdoor environments. In line with this result, people working in indoor environments breathe more polluted air than people working in outdoor environments. Especially in industrial facilities, attention should be paid to indoor measurements to improve indoor air quality (IAQ) and reduce health effects. Because harmful substances in the form of dust and gas such as toxic, explosive, inert, and carcinogenic in IA pose a serious threat to employee health and even cause deaths. To determine IAQ, parameters such as indoor temperature, ozone (O3), carbon dioxide (CO2), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), respirable suspended particulate matter, nitrogen oxides (NOx), radon, sulfur dioxide (SO2), formaldehyde (HCHO), relative humidity, carbon monoxide (CO), bacteria count, air velocity are evaluated.
