Özet

In this study, penile arterial blood flow of spinal cord injured patients who underwent intracavernous papaverin injection for erectile dysfunction was assessed with doppler and plethysmography examinations, and the relationship between two methods was analysed. Fifteen spinal cord injured patients had papaverin injections and their systolic and end diastolic flow velocity was measured with doppler while the maximum amplitud was measured with plethysmography. Spearman correlation analysis showed a moderate correlation of the plethysmography with both measurements of doppler (p<0.05). In conclusion, plethysmography can be used as an alternative method to doppler ultrasound in the evaluation of erectile dysfunction in spinal cord injured patients.
