Özet
A sixty-year-old female patient presented with the complaint of shortness of breath during exercise. She had no relevant cardiac history. Her electrocardiogram revealed poor R wave progression through leads V1-V3 and rare supraventricular premature complexes. On transthoracic echocardiogram left ventricular wall thickness, heart chambers and heart valves were normal. There was a thick muscle band within the left ventricular cavity which extended between posterior wall and interventricular septum. Basal posterior, basal and mid-anteroseptal segments which constitute the origin and insertion points of the band, were hypokinetic with a normal global left ventricular systolic function. No coronary artery lesion was detected on coronary angiogram. After exclusion of other etiologies, thick left ventricular muscle band was thought to be responsible for segmentary wall motion abnormalities. Copyright © 2011 by Türkiye Klinikleri.
