Özet
Diclofenac, which is the most prescribed non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug in the world, has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic characteristics with its phenylacetic structure. Diclofenac is successfully administered in the treatment of inflammatory based diseases and chronic pain. Guidelines recommend diclofenac as the first line therapy in the treatment of acute renal colic, a very frequent and annoying disease. Diclofenac is successfully used in urological postoperative pain, prostate biopsy and in pain caused by shock wave lithotripsy and nocturnal polyuria treatment. In addition, experimental studies conducted suggest that diclofenac will find a place in urology practice with other treatment areas besides its analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory characteristics.
