Serratus Posterior Superior Intercostal Plane Block for Postoperative Analgesia in a Pediatric Patient Undergoing Lobectomy: A Case Report

Özet
Congenital cystic lung malformation (CCLM) is a rare condition requiring lobectomy in symptomatic pediatric patients. Effective postoperative pain management is crucial to prevent respiratory complications and optimize recovery. We present a 12-kg, 1-year-old patient undergoing right lobectomy for CCLM, where Serratus Posterior Superior Intercostal Plane Block (SPSIPB) was used as part of multimodal analgesia. Postoperatively, the patient had low FLACC (Face, Legs, Activity, Cry, Consolability) scores with minimal opioid use. SPSIPB provided effective thoracic analgesia, demonstrating its potential as a safe opioid-sparing option in pediatric thoracic surgery. Further studies are needed to establish its role in routine practice.
