Özet
This case report presents a 14-year-old male with acute severe colitis refractory to steroids, infliximab, and vedolizumab. Following treatment initiation with upadacitinib (45 mg/day), the patient’s Pediatric Ulcerative Colitis Activity Index (PUCAI) decreased from 65 to 30 within 12 days, and he could be discharged. By week 16, clinical and biochemical remission was achieved, with a PUCAI score of 0. The patient returned to his daily activities without adverse effects. This case highlights the potential of upadacitinib as a rescue therapy for pediatric patients with refractory ulcerative colitis, offering a promising alternative to conventional treatments. However, further research is needed to validate its long-term efficacy and safety.
