Özet
Thoracic trauma is a clinical picture that occurs with blunt and penetrating injuries of the chest in children and often requires intensive care. Delays in treatment are associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Rapid diagnosis and treatment are lifesaving. After chest trauma, radiological examinations, direct x-ray examination and computed tomography have diagnostic importance. In particular, the healthcare team, which first diagnoses the patient in the emergency room and provides intensive care services, should evaluate the trauma in all its aspects. Relevant clinicians should have the right timing in ensuring the patient's open airway, adequate lung respiration and oxygenation, evacuation of fluid or air from the chest when necessary, performing pericardiocentesis, and planning further surgical intervention if necessary.
