Özet
In recent decades, mass spectrometry (MS) has become a crucial instrument for large-scale protein characterization of complex biological samples. A shotgun approach involving several methods is often used for these exciting discoveries in MS-based proteomics. This approach provides a comprehensive protein profile of a tissue or cell thanks to high-resolution systems. In addition, recent and rapid technological advances in bioinformatics have remarkably improved the ability to conduct high-throughput studies characterized by the evaluation of big data. In this respect, proteomics has a strong potential to increase our knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases, especially Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease (PD), and schizophrenia.
