Özet
Cystic kidney diseases are a clinically and genetically heterogenous group of disorders that may present in utero with clinical findings immediately after birth or be clinically silent well into adulthood. Unfortunately, there is no treatment modalities that stop the growth of the cysts and prevent the development of renal failure, yet. The treatment modalities have focused especially on autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease. Studies with mTOR inhibitors, V2 receptor blockade and somatostatin analogues did not have expected benefits. Biological treatment methods such as epithelial growth factor inhibitors and cellular therapies such as autologous stem cell transplantation have also been investigated as another treatment options. Here, we made a concise overview to general treatment methods and innovations in the treatment of these heterogenous group of disorders.
