Osteolipoma of the nasopharynx

Özet
Osteolipomas of the head and neck are very rare, and there is no reported case of osteolipoma of the nasopharynx in the literature. Here, we present a case of osteolipoma of the nasopharynx in a 21-year-old male who was referred for a nasopharyngeal mass causing a defect in the left half of the soft palate. The well-demarcated, firm tumor was excised through transnasal endoscopic and transpalatal approaches, and the defect of the soft palate was repaired by a superiorly based pharyngeal flap. Osteolipomas should be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis of nasopharyngeal mass as an extremely rare benign lesion. ©2007Muntaz B. Habal, MD.
