Özet
Incidence of ischemic stroke in pediatric population is 0.6 to 3.3 in 100.000 children. Twenty percent of these cases occurs in the first few months of life. Ratio of ischemic to hemorrhagic stroke is 4:1 in adults, while in childhood it rises to 1:1.5. The most frequently encountered risk factors of stroke in childhood are car. diac diseases, coagulopathies, infections, vasculopaties and vasculitides. Follow up of the patients with these risk factors is important for early detection and management of ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke.
