Özet

Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the bullying experiences of nursing students during clinical practice and their perceived stress levels in the clinical learning environment. Method: This cross-sectional study was conducted with nursing students at a faculty of nursing between October 2023 and March 2024. The study population consisted of nursing students enrolled at the faculty (n = 564). Using the sample size formula for a known population, the required sample size was determined to be 229 students. Data were collected using the 'Questionnaire on Nursing Students’ Descriptive Characteristics and Experiences of Bullying' and the 'Perceived Stress Scale for Nursing Students Results: It was found that 37.1% of nursing students reported experiencing bullying during clinical practice, and that 88.2% of the individuals exhibiting bullying behaviors were nurses. The most common reported reason for experiencing bullying was related to the personality of the individual exhibiting the behavior (72.9%), while the most frequent reaction of students to this situation was sharing it with family and friends (63.5%). The mean Perceived Stress Scale score of students who experienced bullying was 73.34 (23.85), compared to 73.36 (22.57) for those who did not. Perceived stress was found to be at a "moderate" level in both groups, and no statistically significant difference was observed between the groups (p:0.96) Conclusion: In this study, the perceived stress level of nursing students who experienced bullying during clinical practice was found to be at a moderate level, similar to that of students who did not experience bullying. According to the results of the study, experiencing bullying was not found to be associated with perceived stress in the clinical learning environment.
