Özet
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of nurse telephone calls on glycemic parameters and adherence to diabetes control recommendations. Materials and Methods: The intervention was applied to 35 patients with type 2 diabetes for 12 weeks and consisted of continued education and reinforcement of diet, exercise, medication adherence recommendations. The intervention was performed once a week for the first month and once every two weeks for the following months. Conclusion: This study indicates that a nurse telephone intervention may improve glycemic parameters as well as diet, exercise, and medication adherence.
