Özet

Three-dimensional (3D) printing technologies have enormous potential in the manufacturing of biomedical constructs and tissue engineering scaffolds. Until recently, the technology depended heavily on the use of synthetic polymers, and limited studies were reported in designing polysaccharide-based bioinks. This chapter aims to highlight the vast potential of polysaccharide materials in formulating biocompatible bioinks for extrusion, inkjet, or light projection-based 3D printing techniques. Current challenges in the application of polysaccharides are mentioned and various methods and novel approaches are discussed in using polysaccharide bioinks effectively in regenerative cell therapies and tissue engineering.
