Özet
Granular cell tumor is a benign and rare seen tumor in the head and neck region. The most common site is oral cavity, especially the tongue. Our case was a 33-year-old female, who presented with painless tongue mass. This neoplasm, first described by Abrikossof, was named as granular cell myoblastoma, because it was thought to arise from myoblasts. Recent ultrastructural studies and S-100 and neuron specific enolase stains have confirmed the neurogenic origin of the granular cell tumor. Our patient underwent excisional biopsy with local anesthesia. There was no postoperative complication. The patient was recurrence free at postoperative six months.
