Özet
Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is popular in dental caries-arresting material that acts as an antimicrobial and remineralization-enhancing agent because of the high concentration of fluoride ion and silver ion concentration. SDF can prevent the formation of microorganisms due to its silver content. The remineralization-promoting factor can be succeeded with fluoride content of SDF. The nano-scaled SDF is also important for young patients who cannot tolerate dental treatments besides the antimicrobial properties. The nano SDF decreases the applied general anesthesia and dental sedation for children. In this chapter, SDF and nano SDF, mechanism of action, the importance of using nanoparticles, synthesis pathways of SDF, adverse effects, clinical protocols will be discussed in detail.
