Özet
Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma of liver is an uncommon soft-tissue vascular neoplasm with an unknown etiology. Tumor may be solitary nodular or usually multifocal in both liver lobes. Definitive diagnosis is made with immune-histochemical study on hystopathologic examination of excised specimen. Since this entity is rare; there is no evidence based study including large number of patient in the current medical literature. There is no standardized treatment modality. The best treatment option must be choosen according to the clinical presentation and tumor location. Liver transplantation is needed in most cases. However, a small number of patients with solitary and well limited tumors were reported to be treated by partial liver resection. We herein presented a patient with solitary epithelioid hemangioendothelioma of liver treated with resection of segment 6 and discussed the case in the view of medical literature. © 2010 by Türkiye Klinikleri.
