Coexistence of Lumbar Intramedullary Lipoma and Epidermoid Tumor in a Child with Tethered Cord Syndrome: Case Report

Özet
Spinal epidermoid tumors and intramedullary lipomas are rare lesions of the spinal cord. In childhood, each of them may cause tethered cord syndrome (TCS). However, the coexistence of lumbar epidermoid tumors and intramedullary lipoma is much rarer. In this article, we present a 6-year-old female child who admitted with paraparesis and diagnosed lumbar epidermoid tumor and intramedullary lipoma causing TCS. She was treated surgically. Clinical presentation and surgical features of this rare case are presented and discussed. It should be kept in mind that children with TCS may have two tumors of different natures together, and both may contribute to the clinical picture of the patient.
