Özet
Postoperative pain is serious problem for patients and surgeons. The search to solve this problem is still being done to find the appropriate method and medication. In this study, we aimed to compare the side effects and effects of two analgesics which are synthetic opioids; meperidine and tramadol, during the treatment of postoperative pain. This study was fulfilled by randomized double blind method carried by spinal anaesthesia to those cases who will have inguinal hemia operation. This cases divided into two groups; Meperidine: 1.5 mg/kg IM to Group A (n:16) and tramadol 1.5 mg/kg IM to Group B (n:20) was applied. During postoperative period, the first analgesic was applied at the time pain started and the doses were repeated every 6 hours. Evaluation postoperative pain was done; before the analgesic was applied was applied when the pain was starting, after the analgesics were applied 1/2 , 1.., 2., 4., 6., 12 and 24., hours by visual analogue scale. Following the first 30 minutes of pain treatment applied, it was determined that meperidine was more effective compared to tramadol. For this reason, it was seen that side effects bound to tramadol were of minimal level. Following the evaluation process no difference between the two analgesics has been determined. At the end of this study the opinion was that according to the findings, we got as tramadol has less side effects during the postoperative pain treatment and as it was equivalent to opioid analgesics, tramadol was a reliable and effective analgesic.
