Özet
Arteriovenous fistulas have offered hope for hemodialysis patients for years due to their low rates of infection, thrombosis, secondary intervention, and complications. However, arteriovenous fistulas have some disadvantages, such as long maturation periods (four-six weeks), insufficient maturation, difficulty in cannulation, and the development of aneurysms in venous structures over time. This review discusses the definition and formation process of arteriovenous fistulas, comparisons, potential problems, and management strategies for complications.
