Özet

We evaluated anti-PRP IgG levels occurring in response to vaccination together with diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis and oral polio vaccine (DTP/OPV), and tetanus protein conjugated Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib) vaccine (PRP-T) in infants at two and four months of age (Group I, n = 20) and 15-18 months of age (Group II, n = 17). An antibody response of >1 μg/ml was detected in 65% of cases after the third vaccination dose and in 95% after the boosterdose in Group I. This ratio was 91.6% in Group II vaccinated between 15 and 18 months of age. Postvaccination anti PRP IgG levels after the second dose in Group I and after the single dose in Group II were statistically higher than those of their prevaccination levels. Co-administration of DTP/OPV and PRP-T vaccines did not cause an additional side effect. In conclusion, we think that both early (between two and four months) and late (between 15 and 18 months) administrations of PRP-T vaccine together with DTP-OPV are protective against invasive Hib infections.
