Özet
Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is an immune-mediated chronic inflammatory liver disease for which immunosuppressive agents are required in most affected patients. In the current study, it was aimed to evaluate the clinical and demographic characteristics, laboratory values, distribution of autoantibodies, liver biopsy analyzes and histopathological features of our patients diagnosed with AIH and the distribution of other liver variant and autoimmune diseases accompanying AIH, and discuss the results of our center in the light of the literature. This retrospective, cross-sectional study included 202 patients who applied to our center between 01.01.2010 and 30.06.2017 and were diagnosed with AIH. The patients' information was scanned and recorded retrospectively from the hospital management information system. 174 (86%) of the patients were female and 28 (13.9%) were male. The median age of the patients at diagnosis was 46 years. It was determined that the age at which patients were diagnosed was mostly in the middle age group (41-60 years). Among the autoantibodies, antinuclear antibody (ANA) positivity was most frequently detected in patients diagnosed with AIH (86%). Our patients were found to have type-1 AIH most frequently. Additionally, Hashimoto's thyroiditis (31.6%) was found to be the most common accompanying autoimmune disease, and primary biliary cirrhosis (56%) was found to be the most common accompanying liver variant disease. In conclusion, AIH is a chronic, autoimmune liver disease that is increasingly common today and can affect all age, gender and ethnic groups. Early diagnosis and treatment are important in disease management. In this respect, it is clear that knowing the etiopathogenesis of the disease and the diseases accompanying AIH is important for early diagnosis and correct treatment.
