Özet
Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. It is caused by inhalation of CO gas and can have lethal effects such as tissue hypoxia. For the treatment of CO poisoning, hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a method that is being used more frequently. With HBOT, 100% oxygen is administered in a pressurized chamber, increasing tissue oxygen supply and reducing carbon monoxide antagonism. The chapter also discusses recent studies and evidence supporting the use of HBOT in the management of CO poisoning.
