Özet
Objective: Consultation with child and adolescent psychiatry specialists from pediatric clinics is often required. In order to guide pediatricians in our study, we aimed to evaluate the child and adolescent psychiatry consultations requested by the pediatric clinic. Material and Methods: Consultations from Haseki Training And Research Hospital between 12.31.2021 and 12.21.2022 were reviewed retrospectively. 88 patients consulted to the child and adolescent psychiatry were included in the study; demographic information, the reason for the consultation request and the answers were obtained through the Keydata Hospital Information Management Systems system. Results: Of the 88 patients in our study, 84% were girls and 16% were boys. 81.8% of the child and adolescent psychiatry consultations were made between Monday and Thursday. In the distribution by months, it was observed that the highest application was in June (23.9%) and September (26.1%). In our study, it was observed that 73 patients were consulted to the CAP due to suicide. Psychiatric outpatient follow-up was recommended for 55 of the patients, inpatient psychiatric service follow-up for 14 patients, social services application for 9 patients, and Child Adolescent Alcohol Substance Treatment Center follow-up for 2 patients. It was observed that 7 (50%) of the patients who were recommended to be hospitalized in the inpatient service had child and adolescent psychiatry follow-up, and a statistically significant difference was found. Conclusion: In our study, the most common reason for admission was suicide and nearly half of them were related to school. We think that educational public service announcements including families in addition to educational conferences to be held at schools for children may be useful in preventing suicide attempts. In addition, it may be useful to have supportive behaviors during the school start and exam periods.
