Özet

In this report, we describe a case of terbinafine-associated hepatic injury. The patient was treated with terbinafine 250 mg daily for onychomycosis of toenails. After one month of treatment she developed icterus and liver function abnormalities. Since extrahepatic cholestasis, viral hepatitis and primary bile duct diseases were excluded, the cause of liver function abnormalities was probably due to treatment with terbinafine. These abnormalities returned to normal which lasted for 8 weeks, except hyperbilirubinemia within 18 weeks. The hepatotoxic effect of terbinafine is probably an idiosyncratic reaction.
